Electronics Engineer (Embedded Systems and PCB Design)

Join a group of world-class IC design professionals in designing and characterizing CMOS image sensor systems for leading custom machine vision applications. Photolitics is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill the role in our design office in Bulgaria. By joining us you will have the opportunity to develop electronics systems for custom CMOS image sensor readout, including: digital design for FPGA, PCB Design, as well as optical test and characterization of mixed-signal interfaces As an electronics engineer with us you will have the freedom to participate in all phases of IC design and final characterization.

Specific Job Duties:
◇ FPGA design - knowledge in VHDL or any other HDL language
◇ PCB design - using Altium designer, or other PCB EDA, including high-speed differential signalling and impedance matching ◇ Debugging of electronics systems and chip bring-up
◇ Performing test and debug of electronics systems ◇ Write technical documentation on developed modules
◇ Work on image sensor characterization

Qualifications:
◇ Experience with embedded systems, including microcontrollers and/or FPGA
◇ Knowledge in VHDL or Verilog
◇ Understanding of fundamentals in digital electronics design ◇ Familiarity with PCB design and EDA tools
◇ Debug and characterization of electronics systems in a laboratory environment
◇ Familiar with lab instruments: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator
◇ Good soldering skills are a plus ◇ Good communication skills

Other analog design experiences in one or more of the following fields is preferable, but not required:
◇ CMOS image sensor design experience ◇ Knowledge in fundamentals of photonics and electro-optics
◇ Knowledge in SERDES, FIFO Design, USB 3.0, UART, SPI, I2C
◇ Assembler, C++ or other embedded system design languages

Education:
◇ BSc in electrical engineering. MSc/PhD or relevant work experience is desirable
◇ Candidate must be a team player and an active participant in brainstorming solutions
